BALANCE BY BECCA
A BIT MORE ABOUT ME
Who do you believe in?
I truly believe that the key to true happiness is your health. It is my goal to not only get you the results you want, but to help you create a balance in your life and help you achieve optimal health. The easy part is the workout, but what goes on the other hours of your day are crucial to your success. I see myself not only as your fitness professional, but also as your health coach.
I take a holistic approach to training and nutrition! A favorite quote of mine:
"Just as the universe is a gigantic dance of stars and planets, spinning and turning in mysterious space, so the human body is an incredibly beautiful and complex creation, with millions upon millions of cells functioning in their different ways to make an integrated WHOLE"-Holistic Anatomy
Learning to train the body as a whole will ensure lasting results without injury. Looking at nutrition as a whole, rather than just one nutrient at a time, will help you achieve optimal health and performance. Fitness is both physically and mentally challenging; I am here to show you how to become the best version of yourself.
I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Human Performance in 2011. I am an ACSM Exercise Physiologist, NASM Personal Trainer, eCornell Plant Based Nutritionist and am currently working towards my Holistic Nutritionist and Food Over Medicine certifications. My background began in the physical therapy atmosphere; corrective exercise and injury prevention is a huge part of my expertise. Contact me today for your FREE consultation! :)
MY FITNESS SERVICES
Become the BEST Version of You!
I provide professional, certified fitness programs designed to help you reach and maintain your health and fitness goals. Along with custom fitness programs, I also teach my clients how to nourish their bodies so they can achieve real, lasting results.
A Stronger You
My approach to training is to teach proper movement patterns. This will set the foundation of advanced training, it will prevent injuries and give you a foundation for a lifetime of fitness. I customize programs based off of your goals and what your body needs. There's a science behind training and I take that seriously. I focus on functional movements that target the whole body, rather than just one muscle group at a time. This goes back to my holistic approach; the body works as a WHOLE, so we need to train it as a whole. This way of training is fun and will keep you interested!
Injury Prevention and Corrective Exercise
It’s about choosing the right exercises for your posture, activity level and personal health history; knowing when and how to progress and making sure they are performed with proper technique and posture. In everyday life, we are constantly doing activities that create imbalances in our bodies. From sleeping on one side, sitting for long periods of time, or participating in sports like tennis and golf, our bodies slowly develop strengths and weaknesses that eventually lead to asymmetry in our posture and movement. These posture and movement imbalances can lead to unnecessary wear and tear on our muscles and joints and make us more susceptible to chronic pain and injuries. The goal of Corrective Exercise is to identify both posture and movement imbalances and joint limitations and develop a program to correct them. The focus is on movements designed to create balance, stability, and/or mobility in areas that are not functioning properly.
Live a Balanced Lifestyle
My goal is to help my clients learn how to find a healthy balance in their life. Taking a holistic approach to fitness means addressing emotional needs as well as physical needs. I teach proper breathing techniques to make sure my clients can become coherent with their heart and mind. This will help my clients truly become the best version of themselves; it will help my clients stay motivated and ensure lasting results. Proper breathing also will allow adequate oxygen delivery to our working muscles. I teach foam rolling (self-myofascial release) and stretching so that the connective tissue surrounding our muscles stay hydrated and healthy, ultimately preventing injury. Everything in the Body is Made of Raw Materials Found in Food
Nutrition is just as important, if not more, than weight-lifting. Fueling our bodies with the proper nutrients to achieve optimal fitness is KEY to not only seeing results, but feeling the best we can feel, avoiding injuries and prolonging life. I educate my clients on how to nourish their bodies in a way that is satisfying for physical and mental well-being. My main goal is to help people achieve optimal health; this cannot happen if we are putting bad fuel in and on our bodies. This is from hydration, to the food we put into our mouths and to the products we put on our skin. All of these aspects will affect what happens inside the mind and body.
Whatever your fitness needs, I’m here to bring you results. Contact me for more details.
